New Delhi: As Finance Minister Arun Jaitely is currently in the US for treatment, Railways minister Piyush Goyal might present the interim budget on February 1.
Having been reportedly diagnosed with soft tissue sarcoma, a rare form of cancer, Jaitley has flown to the US days ago.
Last year, Goyal was assigned the finance portfolio when Jaitely was away for his kidney transplantation surgery.
Back in India, Jaitley was at the forefront of defending the government, especially during the winter session of Parliament.
