New Delhi/Beijing: In a discussion as they met in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan,  PM Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday agreed to speed up talks on boundary issue.

The talks are aimed at facilitating a ‘fair’ solution for the contentious border issue that recently flared up.

“The two leaders have asked the Special Representatives to meet and carry forward the discussion and have instructed them to expedite the discussion in this regard for achieving a fair, reasonable and mutually acceptable solution, ” Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale  was quoted as saying.

The leaders of Asian giants discussed the bilateral relationship since the Wuhan summit last year.

They will participate in the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).
