Chennai: The central crime branch of the Chennai police on Wednesday quizzed three professors of IIT-Madras in connection with the suicide of Fathima Latheef.

A team led by additional commissioner of police C Eswaramurthy summoned the professors and videographed proceedings for a fair probe. However, the sleuths didn’t give details of the inquiry.

Earlier, the local police questioned the professors before the case was transferred to the Central crime branch.

Fathiam, student from Kollam in Kerala, committed suicide on campus on November 9.

Several protesting students’ outfits say that she was a victim of Islamophobia because she was allegedly ill-treated by some faculty in the name of her religion.
