Madurai: The Madras High Court on Wednesday directed Southern Railway to remove within three weeks all flex boards and cut-outs and banners from its properties and premises.
Division bench of justice T S Sivagnanam and justice R Tharani was hearing a batch of petitions including a public interest litigation (PIL)
T Prabhakar, a resident of Madurai sought for a direction to prevent any individual or associations from raising flex boards or banners on the railway premises.
He also sought to remove the extant flex boards and banners.
Officer-bearers of trade unions and employees have no right to put up flex boards or posters inside the railway stations regarding their achievement, the court observed.
