All-party meet seeks to halt uranium mining in State

Vijayawada:  The Opposition parties in Andhra Pradesh have come together in voice asking the state government to halt the ongoing uranium exploration in the state.

The Opposition demanded the YSRCP government to pass a resolution in the Assembly making it clear that it will not support mining for the mineral.

The roundtable on ‘Uranium Mining - Disaster’ organised  here by the A.P. State Council of the CPI on Sunday, sought  Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s categorical assurance in this regard, on the lines  the one made by K. Chandrasekhara Rao in Telangana.

Alongside representative of Opposition parties, victims of uranium mining were present at the meeting.
