New Delhi: PDP president Mehbooba Mufti’s daughter Iltija Mufti on Thursday claimed that she was detained by police at her residence.
The move came after she tried to visit the grave of her grandfather and former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed in south Kashmir.
She was quoted by PTI as saying that being Special Security Group protectee she had sought permission to visit the grave.
Munir Khan, Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order), denied that Iltija was detained.
He said that the Ananantnag district administration did not give clearance for her visit.
Being SSG protectee, she has to take police clearance before visiting anywhere, Khan added.
