New Delhi: Videoconferencing a press meet, Opposition MPs have said that situation in India calls for mass upheaval like the one America has now.

They urged for concerted protest against implicating CAA-protesters with dark laws.

CPI general secretary D Raja called for oordinated mass protest like the one America has now.

Activists fall prey to sedition cases and UAPA, he said.

Muslim League MP E. T. Muhammad Basheer said that it’s time popular upheaval rose against injustice committed by the government and police.

Haji Fazlur  Rehman MP said that the government turned to arrest anti-CAA porters because of its  failure in containing the COVID 19.

Congress MP Sayed Naseer Hussein said that it would do well for the government to remember that the protest was not called off but just put off.

The government that didn’t consider protest a fundamental right hunt the anti-CAA protesters, he said.

RJD’s Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Kumar Jha termed the protest not political but constitutional against CAA and unlawful arrest.

BSP MP Danish Ali said that trapping activists in false cases were for political advantage.  NCP Rajya Sabha MP and Supreme Court lawyer Majid Memon said hunting of CAA protesters could attract criticism of the court.

Students of those campuses where Anti-CAA protests had taken place were being hunted, said Samajwadi Party MP Shafiqur Rehman.  Nadeem Khan of United against Hate moderated the conference.
