CPM against imposing digital edu till tech is accessed universally
text_fieldsNew Delhi: The first politburo meeting of CPM held via videoconferencing, discussed countrywide lockdown, among other issues, also criticised the government for imposing digital education despite the huge digital divide in urban and rural India.
The meeting said that the central government is trying to implement retrograde education policy, unapproved by parliament. And it is imposing digital teaching/learning methods.
The digital divide should not be super-imposed on our country’s education system” the CPM said.
Digital technology should not replace traditional methods unless digital equipment is accessed by all students.
The meeting suggested the Centre and state governments to reschedule academic session thus exams can be held normal way, without letting students suffer the loss of a year.
