Kozhikode: The schools are opened this year as usual, but the school textbook fiasco that began along with it is yet to be solved. Lakhs of students are attending the classes without the textbooks. Education department is in a defensive mode. After all, the students are at the receiving end of the crisis.
As a solace to the students who are facing hardship over the delay of textbook distribution, Moju Mohan, an engineering graduate from Aattoor in Thrissur has come up with an innovative solution to the crisis. He has developed a mobile application named as Paada Pusthakam.
The app contains the school textbooks from Class I to Class X. Students can now download their textbooks using the Malayalam Android app. The app can be downloaded from Google Play Store for Android devices.
“This app provides easy accessibility to the school textbooks. The app has received more than 40,000 downloads in four days. It is a good response. One of the features of the app is that once it is downloaded, it can be used in offline,” says Moju Mohan.
“Save your time rather waiting for textbook and achieve your service in spot,” says the description of the app.
Apart from this, teachers can also access their handbooks from the app. Helpline numbers and other contact details of the education department are also available in the new app.
