London: Electronic gadgets shall soon be in use which could sniff out the presence of Covid-19, say reports. British researchers tested the device which could identify infection with the help of body odour.

The 'Covid alarm' created by researchers from Durham University and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) possess sensors that identify the distinct smell produced by the virus.

Once the equipment comes into use, covid tests would not be necessary as this device can detect covid patients without taking blood or swab samples. The researchers explain that this gadget can be attached to the ceiling and would enable the detection of covid patients in the room within 15 minutes. The device is quite promising as it can be used as a precautionary alarm in public places. The device has shown 98-100 per cent efficiency.
