Kozhikode: The state school sports meet began on a colourful note with a 21-year-old meet record broken on the first day itself.
Bipin George of Mar Baselios School in Kothamangalam smashed the two-decade old meet record in the 5000m boys category.
More than 2500 athletes would compete in 95 events in this, the 59th edition of the meet.
It remains the biggest sporting event of the State. It is also the most important dates in the State’s athletics calendar.
