A mighty knock from Kohli soon: Royal Challengers director

Mumbai: The director of cricket for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Mike Hesson, opined that Virat Kohli is about to score a mighty knock soon. He asserted that Kohli struggling with the bat in IPL 2022 is due to no technical issue, IANS reported.

"Virat is as frustrated as anyone, but we know that the epic one (from Kohli) is around the corner. We have got a huge game coming up. So, there is no reason why it won't be in a few days' time," Hesson said.

His statement comes after RCB collapsed before Punjab Kings posed a mammoth total of 210, and Kohli failed to shine once again on Friday. However, his 20 off 14 was pretty remarkable, with two beautiful drives to the boundary.

Hesson said that Kohli is the best player RCB ever had, and he hasn't scored the volume of runs he would have liked. He looked good in the last match, and he is putting a lot of effort behind the scenes. He expressed confidence in Kohli's bouncebackability.

Hesson further said that luck hasn't been favouring Kohli, pointing out that he is being gotten out through uncharacteristic ways. On Friday, he was doing great, and Hesson was expecting a blast from him. "He has not had a huge amount of fortune, especially when he has got himself set when he has got himself in. He is as frustrated as anybody. We thought today was going to be the day. As a batting unit, today was our opportunity to put up our hand up in chasing a formidable score like that, but we lost wickets in clumps," Hesson said, referring to Friday's match.
