The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to introduce women's red-ball cricket through a multi-day competition, scheduled to follow the ongoing Women's Premier League (WPL) and commencing on March 29 in Pune.

The tournament will involve six teams representing different zones, competing in a series of five matches.

The inaugural matches, two quarterfinals, will occur simultaneously on March 29, 30, and 31.

Subsequent to this stage, the championship will progress to two semifinals, anticipated on April 5, 6, and 7. The tournament's grand final is slated for April 9, 10, and 11, although the two directly seeded teams in the semifinals are yet to be disclosed.

This three-day event aims to evaluate the BCCI's ability to motivate players to actively participate in domestic events, reflecting the board's commitment to ensuring that female players accord the same importance to domestic competitions, like the Ranji Trophy, as they do to the IPL and international cricket.
