Mumbai: Indian women cricketers beat Australian women in the 2nd T20I match in a series and took a victory lap inside the DY Patil Sports Academy stadium here. The Instagram handle of the team shared a video of the lap, holding Indian from the game in which the Women-in-Blue matched the target of 187 runs and later won the Super Over.

The video sent netizens into a frenzy.

Smriti Mandhana was in super form, scoring 79 off 49 balls, and Women-in-blue nearly made their highest chase when the score tied at 187. However, after restricting Australia to 16, Indian women won the Super Over, where Mandhana scored 13 from three balls.

After the match, Mandhana said in a press conference, "We haven't come good in close games against them, although we have given them a fight. Close matches are something that the whole Indian team is trying to work on, and it started with the Commonwealth Games semi-final. Some matches have started going our way. People are adapting to pressure, and we have a lot of match-winners."

"If 45 is required off 25 balls, the Indian women's team, a year back, you never knew, and it might not have happened. Now we have Richa, Deepti (Sharma), and we have Devika (Vaidya). They are developing well," she added.
