Kolkota Knight Riders had an exceptional victory against Delhi Capitals yesterday which was slightly marred by wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik admitting to have breached the IPL Code of Conduct at the match that evening.
A statement issued by the IPL states that Karthik admitted to violating "Level 1 offence 2.2" which is defined as: "Abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures and fittings during a Match". During the match, Karthik had ripped a stump out of the ground.
"Mr. Karthik admitted to the Level 1 offence 2.2 of the IPL's Code of Conduct and accepted the sanction. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee's decision is final and binding," the statement reads.
Kolkota Knight Riders will face Chennai Super Kings in the finals of the Indian Premier League at Dubai International Stadium on Friday.
