His remarkable form included amassing 131 runs against Afghanistan, followed by a commanding 86 off 63 balls against Pakistan, establishing him as one of the most formidable batters in the tournament.
Another notable mover in the rankings is South Africa's wicketkeeper-batter, Quinton de Kock, who advanced three places to claim the third position.
De Kock's ascent came on the back of consecutive centuries in the World Cup, scoring 100 against Sri Lanka and 109 against Australia. He leapfrogged teammate Rassie van der Dussen, who now sits in fourth place. However, de Kock missed the chance to inch closer to the top spot when he was dismissed for 20 runs against the Netherlands.

Shubman Gill, India's opening batsman, continued to occupy the second position in the rankings, despite battling illness and contributing 12 runs to India's campaign against Pakistan in the World Cup.
Among the bowlers, veteran New Zealand pacer, Trent Boult, is on the cusp of claiming the top spot in the ODI bowling rankings after an exceptional display against Bangladesh. He finished with figures of 2/45 against Bangladesh and claimed his 200th wicket in ODIs by dismissing Towhid Hridoy. Boult now trails the current leader, Australia's Josh Hazlewood, by just a single rating point, having moved up one place in the latest update.
Rashid Khan, the prodigious spinner from Afghanistan, made a noteworthy climb of two spots to secure fourth place in the bowling rankings. South Africa's spinner, Keshav Maharaj, recorded a more significant rise, moving up seven spots to share the fifth position with Mujeeb Ur Rahman.
In the category of fast bowlers, India's Jasprit Bumrah ascended seven places to join South Africa's Kagiso Rabada in 14th place, while Lungi Ngidi moved up six spots to occupy the 16th position.
