In a touching display of sportsmanship and camaraderie, Pakistan's pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi extended his warm congratulations to Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah by giving a gift upon his becoming a father of a boy.

The heart-warming moment, a video which went viral on social media unfolded during the Asia Cup 2023 Super Four stage match between India and Pakistan, which had to be postponed to a reserve day due to persistent rain.

The viral video captured the exchange as Shaheen Afridi presented a wrapped gift box to Bumrah. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also shared the video on their social media platform, celebrating the spirit of cricket that transcends borders.

Jasprit Bumrah and his wife, Sanjana Ganesan, welcomed their joy, named Angad Jasprit Bumrah, on September 4. The Indian fast bowler had left the ongoing Asia Cup tournament and rushed back to Mumbai on September 3 to be by his wife's side for this special moment.

Expressing his joy and gratitude, Bumrah took to his official social media handle to share the news of his son's birth, saying, "Our little family has grown, and our hearts are fuller than we could ever imagine! We are over the moon and can’t wait for everything this new chapter of our lives brings with it."

The rain-induced delay may have disappointed cricket fans eagerly awaiting the high-stakes clash between India and Pakistan, but Shaheen Afridi's thoughtful gesture served as a reminder of the bond that transcends the boundaries of sport.
