 Nitu Ghanghas & Amit Panghal.

Birmingham: In Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2022, Indian boxers Nitu Ghanghas and Amit Panghal won Gold on Sunday, battling in their respective categories, IANS reported.

When 21-year-old Nitu beat England's Demie-Jade Resztan 5-0 in the women's over 45kg-48kg, Amit defeated England's Kiaran MacDonald 5-0 on points in the final of the men's flyweight category, both registering glittering wins.

The current one is Nitu's first Commonwealth medal, while she is also a two-time world youth champion.

Amit also won his first ever gold medal in the CWG and the second medal in total after his Silver on the 2018 Gold Coast. This Gold is expected to serve better confidence for him. He had bowed out of the Olympics last year after a loss in the opening round itself.
