Manchester United overcome Newcastle United at Old Trafford on Sunday with three goals by Marcus Rashford, Daniel James, and Bruno Fernandes. This victory gifted three crucial points, helped to claim the second place in the point table 10 points behind Manchester City and ahead Leicester City on goal difference.

Marcus Rashford scored in the 30th minute of the match with a brilliant strike giving United a much needed opener. Six minutes later Saint-Maximin equalised pressurising United. In the 57th minute of the match Daniel James scored and Bruno Fernandes scored in 75th minute. With this victory Manchester moved second in the table making the tittle race more interesting.

United performed poor in the first half with creating less chances and continuously failed to brench the defence. United captain Harry Maguire had a massive role in Newcastle goal. Maguire failed clearance gave open chance for Saint - Maximin.Saint - Maximin never made a mistake and scored from the advantage. Manchester United will meet Chelsea on Sunday at Stamford Bridge.

"We had to find a way to win it in the second-half. The first-half wasn't up to the standard that we wanted," said United manager Solskjaer.

This defeat increased the possibility relegation from the league. Newcastle is in 17 th position on the table with 25 points just above the Fulham who is the nearest to relegation spot. Despite of the 3 point difference from relegation spot Newcastle United coach Steve Bruce is confident about his team.

"Fulham have had a good week and won a couple of games, which at the bottom end of the table is big, but there are a few of us: Brighton, Burnley and maybe Crystal Palace looking over their shoulders . My message to the supporters is that I'm convinced we'll be ok." said Newcastle United Manager Steve Bruce
