Wimbledon: The 20-time Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic defeated Cameron Norrie in the men's singles semifinal to cruise his way to take on Nick Kyrgios in the finals of Wimbledon 2022 at All England Club.

One of the most successful tennis stars in Wimbledon history, the 35-year-old Djokovic, is the defending champion at the Championships. He has won the tournament six times(2011, 2014, 2015, 2018, 2019 and 2021) in his career.

The Serbian Djokovic pushed forward into his overall eighth Wimbledon final after defeating Britain's Cameron Norrie 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 on Friday (July 8) on centre court.

"In a way it is a surprise because (of) his ranking. So maybe not too many people are giving him big chances to reach the finals," Djokovic said of Kyrgios after beating Norrie in the semi-final.

Nick Kyrgios is the man standing between Djokovic and the Wimbledon trophy. He will face the first-time major finalist 27-year-old Kyrgios on Sunday.

An unseeded player from Australia, he moved straight to the finals after Rafael Nadal, a 22-time Grand Slam champion withdrew from the semifinals following an abdominal muscle injury.
