New York: Elon Musk is giving hope to struggling journalists with an offer of earning from his platform X

Musk urged journalists to publish directly on X and promised higher income and more freedom.

‘If you're a journalist who wants more freedom to write and a higher income, then publish directly on this platform,’ he posted on X.

X, formerly Twitter, has undergone some makeover after Musk has taken it over a year ago.

Earlier Musk hinted at his plans to allow media publishers to charge users to read articles on his platform.

Users with no monthly subscription will end up playing more if charged on ‘per article basis’, according to him.

Despite this call, X has not rolled out any such policy change.

Meanwhile, AFP news agency has a filed copyright case against X in France.

AFP reportedly sought X to hand over data to estimate a fair compensation.

Musk announcement comes as media groups are calling for sharing profits from social media posts.
