New Delhi: WhatsApp users can now make voice and video calls through its desktop app. The company, led by Facebook, said the new system through desktop would be reliable and of high quality. They further added that the new feature has been designed ensuring the privacy of its users.

Though it currently enables calls between two people, the feature would be expanded into group calls in the future. The company has reported a huge increase in WhatsApp calls over the past year. Calls are only possible when the computer and phone have an internet connection. Users also need to allow WhatsApp to use the computer's microphone and camera.
