Granting bail to Gulfam, Additional Sessions Judge Vinod Yadav, observed that Eid is a blessing day for the entire Muslims and a time of joy. Gulfam has been in judicial custody for over a year after being implicated in eight cases related to the northeast Delhi riot that happened last year.

Gulfam acquired bail in seven cases so far, reports The Indian Express. Justice Yadav found him deserving an interim bail to be with his family.

The bail on a personal bond of Rs 20,000, he could get a release only when an RT-PCR test conducted on him by the authorities. The court also sought an assurance of not misusing the liberty and no further extension of interim bail on any ground whatsoever.

Gulfam has also been directed not to leave the town/station (Delhi) without prior permission of the Court. Besides, his bail requisite also demands he should get the Aarogya Setu application installed on his mobile phone, and not influence witnesses or tamper with evidence. According to the IE report, he has also been asked to "maintain peace and harmony in the locality".
