2022's strongest global storm barreling across East China sea

Hawaii: US Joint Typhoon Warning Center (US JTWC) has cautioned about the strongest global storm in 2022, which is now churning across the East China Sea.
Super Typhoon Hinnamnor, currently packing sustained winds of 160 miles (257 kilometres) per hour and gusts over 195 miles per hour, is a threat to Japan's southern islands as well as China's east coast with wild winds, Bloomberg reported.
The maximum significant wave height is predicted as 15 meters.
Japan Meteorological Agency said that the mentioned storm is estimated as the strongest in 2022 based on its sustained wind speed recorded so far.
According to Hong Kong Observatory's update at 10 am on Wednesday, the typhoon was centred around 230 kilometres east of Japan's Okinawa. It was forecast to move west-southwest at about 22 kilometres per hour, heading to the Ryukyu Islands.
However, the US JTWC forecast that the super typhoon will weaken slightly in the coming days.
Meanwhile, Hurricane Alley in the Atlantic, between Africa and the Caribbean, is having a quiet August in 25 years after a sustained period of calm. Phil Klotzbach, the lead author of Colorado State University's seasonal storm forecast, said that since record-keeping started, the area has only experienced a calm August only twice, one in 1961 and the other in 1997.
