Showing door to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the Republicans won back the US House of Representatives with a crucial but slim majority.

The Grand Old Party earlier showcased an underwhelming performance in midterms with candidates handpicked by former president Donald Trump reported trailing behind Democrats.

The failures forced the Trump camp to have second thoughts over the Trump's announcement to run for the White House, and however, there was no agreement among his advisors about how to proceed.

Results made Democrats over the last week enthusiastic about undercutting Trump's ambitious run for the White House.

Now a Victory in California's 27th Congressional district took the Republicans over the line, certainly giving hope to Trump.

Where Democrats retained power in the Senate, the Republicans gained the critical 218 th seat in the lower chamber of Congress essential to wrest the control of the house away from Democrats.

With the Republicans gaining control of House, Joe Biden is likely to face tough time ahead in the next two years of his tenure.

Republican Congressman Kevin McCarthy who will replace Nancy Pelosi said "Americans are ready for a new direction, and House Republicans are ready to deliver".

Republicans will take revenge on Democrats for their treatment of Trump orchestrating two impeachments efforts.

They are reportedly in the mood to investigate business dealings of the President's son Hunter with China and other countries.

The international policy of US favouring Ukraine will face stumbling blocks from Republicans, reports say.
