Café in Denmark tells wives to ‘leave your husbands with us and go shopping, Mahindra calls it innovative

A Day Care Centre is a place where working parents can leave their children in the care of attendants, but a centre that attracts wives to drop off their husbands while they go out shopping is funny in many ways.

Such a quirky signboard that says 'wives to leave their husbands at a café' in Denmark caught the eyes of industrialist Anand Mahindra, who shared it on social media with the remark that innovation is not always about creating new things but also about giving vigour to an existing product category.

The amusing signboard in Green Towers, Copenhagen has become viral on social media, which reads "Husband Day Care Centre. Do you require some time for yourself? Would you like to unwind or go shopping? Leave your husband with us! We will take care of him for you! You are only responsible for his drinks."

After sharing a photograph of the signboard, the chairman of Mahindra and Mahindra tweeted that innovation is not limited to creating new products, but can also involve finding new use-cases for an existing product category.

Mahindra’s tweet reads “Innovation is not just creating new products. It’s also about creating entirely new use-cases for an existing product category! Brilliant.”

This statement was well received by netizens who were intrigued by the signboard. One user commented that husbands don't need a daycare centre and are better off staying at home alone, but appreciated the innovation and smart presentation.

Another user praised the idea as crazily innovative but wondered who would actually leave their husbands there. A third user called it an innovative marketing strategy. The cafe itself offers an outdoor seating area and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, as well as snacks.

According to Antonne, a bartender at the cafe, husbands visit to rest their legs while their wives and children go shopping. This information was reported by The Standard media outlet.
