Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron recently made her presence known in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the latest film 'Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness'. However, it was a blink-and-you-missed-it appearance at the end of the movie. The actress has now properly introduced her character Clea on Instagram.

Theron will be playing Clea, the Sorcerer Supreme of the Dark Dimension who helped Stephen Strange in a 1964 Dr. Strange comic, The Domain of the Dread Dormammu! However, it is not clear what her role will be in the MCU movie as the plot does not exactly follow the comic books.

The actress took to Instagram to share a video showing her character in a 3D scan version. She is seen standing inside a circle while cameras capture all aspects of her appearance.

Clea's signature purple outfit including her cape, long platinum hair, and magenta smokey eyes are captured clearly for the fans. She captioned the video 'sneaky peaky BTS'. A few days ago, Theron shared a close-up of her face in a photo captioned 'meet Clea'. In another photo, she was seen standing with Doctor Strange in front of a building that could be in New York.

Screenwriter Michael Waldron told Deadline that the team always knew they wanted to introduce Clea who is the great love of Doctor Strange in the comics. But she is also "his formidable equal as a sorcerer in a lot of ways". He added Clea's backstory is fascinating as she is the niece of Dormammu. The writer termed the celestial being as the "giant floating head from the first movie (Doctor Strange)".

Clea's appearance in 'Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness' that was released last week was limited to a mid-credit scene. Fans are excited about Theron playing the role and her superhero avatar hasn't disappointed. In the comics, Clea is known for appearing humanoid despite her Faltine heritage, a kind of fire alien.

Her introduction to MCU has sparked conversations about its implications as she is romantically linked to Doctor Strange in the comics.
