COVID-19: Global caseload crosses 172.8 million

As per data released by John Hopkins University, the overall Covid-19 caseload worldwide has crossed 172.8 million while deaths have surged over 3.71 million. The University's Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) pegged the overall caseload at 172,859,512 and death toll at 3,718,408 in its latest update on Sunday morning.

The US continues to be the worst hit by the pandemic, with about 33,357,080 cases seconded by India with 28,694,879 cases. The US has recorded 597,377 deaths, the highest globally, followed by Brazil with 472,531 fatalities.
