Billionaire tech mogul Elon Musk tweeted today his company will defeat the spam bots on Twitter or die trying. He has been attempting a hostile takeover of the social media platform for the past couple of weeks and claimed yesterday he has secured funding of $46.5 billion for the same.

The Tesla founder has been making controversial and unwelcome remarks about the changes he is going to make on Twitter. He said that authenticating all real humans is part of his plan if the Twitter bid succeeds. It is not clear what he meant by authentication.

Mr Musk is known for making controversial remarks on the microblogging platform and being the subject of countless memes. He is the second-biggest shareholder of Twitter with a 9.1% stake. The billionaire calls himself a "free speech absolutist" but many have critically called him a defender of "speech without consequences" which is different from liberty.

The board of Twitter has plans to activate the poison pill strategy to prevent Musk from acquiring more than 15% of its shares. This will make it nearly impossible for him to take over the company without spending a lot more money than originally planned.

Elon Musk has committed to putting up $33.5 billion including $21 billion of equity and $12.5 billion of margin loans for the takeover. Prominent banks like Morgan Stanley have agreed to contribute another $13 billion in debt.
