Fleeing the Taliban, 30 Afghan Sikhs to arrive in India

New Delhi: At least 30 Afghan Sikhs, including men, women and children, will arrive in Delhi from Kabul on Wednesday as the exodus of Afghan minorities to India continues amid growing religious persecution in Taliban-ruled Afghanistan.
These Afghan nationals took off from Kabul on Cam Air Flight No. 4401. Puneet Singh Chandok, Indian World Forum President informed that 110 Sikhs remain in Afghanistan and 61 e-visa applications are pending with the Indian government.
32 Afghan Sikhs had earlier evacuated from Kabul.
Their airfare has been borne by Sikhs' single largest representative body, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, IANS reported.
He informed that after landing in Delhi, the evacuees would proceed towards Gurdwara Sri Guru Arjan Dev, Tilak Nagar, New Delhi.
"They are likely to be rehabilitated by the World Punjabi Organisation, Sobti Foundation, and other social organisations," said Chandok.
Afghanistan's Sikhs and Hindus are continuously attacked by various terrorist groups, and in the past year, the number of attacks has scared the community.
Gurudwara Kart-e-Parwan in Kabul has been vandalized and bombed repeatedly, making them (Sikhs) unsafe in Afghanistan.
