How Rishi Sunak made London commuters wow during rush hour

London: The newly elected prime minister of the UK Rishi Sunak donned the cap of a poppy seller Thursday morning at the rush hour subway station here.
Surprising commuters to wowing, Sunak walked about with a tray of poppies in his hand at the station.
He sold the bright-hued blooms made out of paper for £5 each as part of a fundraiser for the Royal British Legion's annual London Poppy Day appeal, according to the BBC.
As they were going about busy, the commuters were not in for a surprise in the form of their prime minister.
Letting their hair down, they got up close and personnel with him, taking selfies and chatting.
The UK PM joined scores of volunteers from the British army, navy and air force who are going door-to-door for donations to the cause.
Some of the commuters later described on social media their time with the first prime minister of Indian origin.
The Royal British Legion expressed its gratitude to the PM for "generously giving up his time to collect with us during the morning rush hour".
While many described Sunak as" down to earth" and " approachable", others on social media termed his appearance at the station a " crash photo opportunity", and wondered if had more pressing issues to involve in.
Rishi Sunak has inherited a nation beset with a faltering economy and divisive politics from a series of prime ministers down to Liz Truss, his predecessor.
Liz Truss bowed out as her initial enthusiasm to put it on track and its economy proved a blunder, kicking up a storm at her party.
The road ahead is not cosy for the Indian-origin prime minister, and many experts doubt his lasting power more than his predecessors had done.
