Kyoto: A student in Japan expressed solidarity with Ukraine at his graduation ceremony and chose to dress up as President Volodymyr Zelensky. Students were asked to dress in whatever outfits they want for the ceremony.

Amiki Yomiuri showed up at the Kyoto University campus in khaki pants and an olive coloured shirt. He told the Japanese news outlet Yomiuri that he has been growing out beard since December. "I was told I look like President Zelensky." He also carried a wooden shamoji, a rice serving spoon, which was identical to the one Japanese PM Fumio Kishida gave to Zelenski during his trip to Kyiv.

He also showed off signs with messages and quotes from the war-torn country's President's speech to the US Congress in December 2022.

Many students showed up in unique costumes from pop culture to express themselves on the important days of their lives.
