Kamala Harris' tweet thanking farm workers amuses Indian netizens
text_fieldsNew Delhi: As social media witness division over farmers protest in the country, a tweet from US vice-president elect Kamala Harris has amused Indian netizens.
Harris, the daughter of an Indian immigrant from Chennai, on Friday took on to twitter to express her gratitude to the farm workers and food bank staff who struggled to ensure food security in the US during the pandemic.
Thankful for our farm workers and food bank staff whose hard work has put food on the tables for millions of families across our country.

However, the tweet found more reception among Indian netizens who lauded the powerful American stateswoman for her compassion towards the farmers.

Indian social media users posted pictures from farmers' protest and drew the US strongwoman's attention to the mistreatment towards the farmers at the hands of Indian police.
