Seoul: North Korea staged a ‘large military’ parade showcasing its weapons including nuclear-capable missiles for leader Kim Jong Un, and visiting Chinese and Russian delegations in Pyongyang on Thursday night.

North Korea was celebrating the ‘Victory Day’ marking the 70th anniversary of the end of the Korean War when the country showed to friends its military capabilities, Reuters further reported.

Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu and Chinese delegations became first international guests to the nation since Covid-19 pandemic gripped the world.

North Korea is largely a loner in international relations with just a few countries to make any bilateral relations with it.

China is among those trusted few to be on its list of friends and Russia too belong to it.

Isolated within the borders of his country, Kim Jong Un has rarely seen in any international meetings outside North Korea.

The participation of Russia and China at the North Korea’s national celebration with its nuclear missiles on display raised some curiosity.

Earlier, the United Nations Security Council banned North Korea’s nuclear missiles with the support of China and Russia.

North Korea, however, showcased last night its latest Hwasong-17 and Hwasong-18 intercontinental ballistic missiles, state news agency KCNA reported.

These missiles are touted to be capable to hitting anywhere in the US, whom the North Korea considers as its enemy.
