Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan emphasized at the Munich Security Conference on Saturday that the establishment of a Palestinian state is crucial for ensuring security and stability in the Middle East. He stressed that Israel's security is also intertwined with the creation of a Palestinian state.

Referring to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, Prince Faisal stated that Saudi Arabia's primary focus is on securing a ceasefire and facilitating Israel's withdrawal from Gaza. He underscored the importance of humanitarian access for the people of Gaza.

“We have made it clear to the Americans and others that, from our perspective, the first priority must be to resolve the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and to find a way to end the fighting in Gaza”, said Prince Faisal.

Prince Faisal reiterated Saudi Arabia's stance that it will not engage in diplomatic relations with Israel unless an independent Palestinian state is recognized.

Prince Faisal condemned Israeli forces' actions causing a death toll of around 30,000 in Gaza, cautioning that such provocations could escalate tensions in Arab and Islamic nations. He warned that these actions could potentially fuel ideologies of terrorism and extremism globally, especially considering the recent events in Gaza.
