Kyiv: A wave of Russian attack caused widespread disruption of water supplies in Ukraine's capital on Friday.

The mayor of the city said metro services were suspended to use stations as shelters.

Russia has intensified attacks in Kyiv repeating the horrendous of scene of war after a brief lull.

Despite laying waste to the large part of Ukraine, Russia is in no mood to withdraw troops amid international outcry against the war.

The continuing attack has disrupted the country's power supply leaving homes and business in dark.

"Due to damage to energy infrastruture, there are interruptions to the water supplies in all areas of the capital," Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reportedly said.

Vitali Klitschko asked residents in Desnyan district to take shelter following explosions in the area.

Meanwhile, the governor of the eastern Kharkiv region said the main city was without power after Russian strikes.

While Russia is still relying on traditional war of airstrike and shelling, Putin administration often resorts to nuclear threats.

Most recently in a speech Putin made veiled hints of nuclear attacks against Ukraine, which the West roundly condemned.
