Kyiv: Amid the attacks in Ukraine continue, Russian President Vladimir Putin in a Television interview said that he is open to talks with Ukraine to end the war.

In an interview excerpt released on Sunday, which was aired on a state channel he said that Russia is prepared to negotiate some acceptable outcomes with all the participants of this process.

"It’s not us who refuse talks, it's them," he said.

Putin added that Moscow has "no other choice" in the action which is previously referred to as a "special military operation", and that he believes that the Kremlin was "acting in the right direction."

"We're defending our national interests, the interests of our citizens, our people," he said.

Though the President hints a positive attitude towards ending the war, attacks in Ukraine continue, as country-wide air raid alerts were announced twice on Sunday, in which three missiles hit the city of Kramatorsk.

Previously a deadly attack by Russia in the city of Kherson, which is retaken by Ukrainian forces last month, killed and wounded scores of people.

A total of 16 people were killed, including three emergency workers according to official reports and around 64 more have been wounded.

An overnight shelling was reported in the Dnipropetrovsk region, but as of now, no casualties have been recorded.
