Former President Donald Trump, who is planning to run for White House again, on Saturday pushed conspiracy theories behind his failure in 2020 polls.

He called for termination of the Constitution to overturn the 2020 polls and thus to reinstate him to power, according to CNN.

A social media post by Trump reportedly read: "Do you throw the Presidential Election Results of 2020 OUT and declare the RIGHTFUL WINNER, or do you have a NEW ELECTION? A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution."

Trump was reacting to the release of internal Twitter emails that showed "deliberation in 2020 over New York Post story about material found on Hunter Bidens' laptop".

"Our great 'Founders' did not want, and would not condone, False & Fraudulent Elections!" Trump blurted out.

White House spokesman Andrew Bates, calling for universal condemnation of Trump's remarks, said American Constitution is a sacrosanct document which for over 200 years has guaranteed freedom and rule of law.

Bates added that "The Constitution brings the American people together – regardless of party – and elected leaders swear to uphold it", according to the report.

Republican Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming, who is an outspoken critic of Trump, called Trump an enemy of the Constitution.

Trump's hold on Republican Party is seemingly ebbing away nevertheless he has announced his third presidential bid last month.

Meanwhile, Democrats retained control of the Senate after a large number of Republican candidates, backed by Trump, lost both in both Senate and House races.

Now the former president appears to have no talking point to rhetorically energise his followers.
