Ukraine MP punches Russian representative at global meet in Turkey

Ankara: Perhaps, the Russian representative participating the international conference in Turkey never thought a blinding blow would land on his face when he snatched Ukraine flag from a Ukraine representative.
A footage doing rounds on social media showcases the deeper aspects of animosity between two nations that could play out on personal level too.
The flare up took place in Turkey’s capital Ankara during the 61st Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Community on Thursday.
Close to over 14 months since Russia invaded Ukraine, Russian representative to the conference snatched Ukrainian flag from its representative Oleksandr Marikovskyi.
Marikovskyi was respectfully folding his nation’s flag when the unidentified Russian representative walked over to him, snatching and getting away with the flag.
The Ukraine MP did not wait to give him a chase in the hallway of the venue, before raining punches.
Russian representative got a few on his face as well, as the video showed him feeling his face with his hand.
Officials in the hallway intervened to stop them from further fighting and the Ukrainian representative snatched the flag back.
Later sharing a video of the incident on Facebook, he wrote: ‘Paws away from our flag.’
Meanwhile, Russian is mounting allegations that Ukraine tried to assassinate President Vladimir Putin with a drone attack on the Kremlin, which Ukraine denied.
