Moscow: Citing the $60.84 billion more support the US announced for Ukraine showed that Washington is getting deeper into a hybrid war against Russia, which is going to humiliate the US like what happened in Vietnam and Afghanistan conflicts, Moscow warned on Sunday.

The US House of Representatives passed a $95 billion legislative package providing security assistance to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan on Saturday. However, some far-right Republicans objected to this.

The current fallout in relations between Russia and the West is the worst since the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis, Russian and US diplomats say.

President Vladimir Putin's 2022 full-scale invasion of Ukraine has touched off the worst fallout in relations between Russia and the West since the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis, according to Russian and US diplomats.

It has become clear that the US wanted Ukraine to fight till the end and attack Russian sovereign territories, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said. The US is immersing deeper and deeper into the hybrid war against Russia, but it will turn into a loud and humiliating fiasco for Washington, like Vietnam and Afghanistan, she claimed.

Russia is going to give an “unconditional and resolute response” to the US for getting involved in the Ukraine conflict, she said.

Though US Central Intelligence Agency Director William Burns said last week that with US military support, Ukraine could hold their own this year, the US had ruled out deploying its own military or other NATO member troops for Kyiv.

Ukraine and Russia traded attacks in the early hours of Saturday and killed some civilians, which included pregnant women. Following the attacks, both sides accused each other of the deadly strikes.
