The New England Journal of Medicine, the world's leading weekly medical journal, severely lamented American president Donald Trump's way of handling novel coronavirus. In its new editorial that titled as " Dying in a Leadership Vacuum, " implicitly deviated from its non- partisanship in political affairs.

" Even though, Covid 19 provided test of leadership, here in the United States our leaders have failed that test" - the journal said in its editorial published on Wednesday. It added that the response of our leaders were inadequate. Along with that, it appreciated preventive measures taken by China to contain novel coronavirus transmission and death rate to 3 per million. Meanwhile, the death rate in the United States is soaring with more than 500 per million.

" We had ample warning, but when the disease first arrived we couldn't provide even the most important PPE kits"- the journal added enumerating the causes of set back that America faced due to Covid outbreak. Along with that, the journal marked outrage over making a mask as a political tool rather than effective infection control measures.

It is one of the four editorials in the journal history that were signed by all 34 editors, The New York Times reported citing Dr.Eric Rubin, the editor in chief the journal. N.E.J.M comes second to the " Scientific American ", influential journal, which backed Mr. Biden, the candidate in upcoming US presidential election in November.
