New Delhi: It is hard to say if state heads share deeply felt rapport with each other beyond what their positions allow them.

President Donald Trump and Narendra Modi chummed up with each other like school friends holding hands and hugging while thousands of American-Indians watched them at "Howdy, Modi" rally in Houston, Texas in 2019.

After Donald Trump stepped down as president, Modi administration quickly hailed the new president Joe Biden and Trump faded away from the lime light.

If anybody took their rapport just a convenient political show, perhaps they are wrong.

A leaked clip of Donald trump's not-yet-released interview showed the former president defining America's ties with India with a new catch phrase, India Today reported.

Trump was heard saying "Bharat and America sabse achhe dost," suggesting his interest in strong bilateral ties with India.

Trump's words also made speculations stronger about his plans to run for the president again.

"Howdy, Modi" event came months after Modi was reelected and the two leaders again met in 2020 in Gujarat during the covid crisis, holding a mega roadshow.

Will Trump's bonhomie with India work for him in the next election?
