Would have shot and killed BR Ambedkar as same as Godse killed Gandhiji, the Hindutva leader said.

Hyderabad: Following the controversial statement by a Hindutva leader in Telangana that he would have killed Dr BR Ambedkar just like Godse killed Gandhi, demand has been issued for criminal action against the person, The News Minute reported.

Rashtriya Dalita Sena- a Hindutva organisation- founder Hamara Prasad made the toxic statement against Ambedkar and Bahujan Samaj Party chief in the state RS Praveen Kumar sought action under section 153 A of the Indian Penal Code and the Preventive Detention Act.

In a fresh update by Asianet News Telugu, Hamara Prasad has been arrested.

Taking the book ‘Riddles in Hinduism: An Exposition to Enlighten the Masses’ written by Ambedkar, Hamara Prasad said in a video that Ambedkar, an intellectual who has 12 Degrees and a national leader, must treat all the people of the country equally and must not show “his hatred against others” though he suffers.

Prasad said that Ambedkar hurt the sentiments of crores of Hindus by writing such “garbage”.

“Had I been born when Ambedkar was alive, and if I had come across this book, like how Godse shot Gandhi, I would have shot Ambedkar,” TNM quoted Prasad.

Reacting to the remarks, RS Praveen Kumar shared the video clip and tagged the Bharat Rashtra Samiti, the ruling party of Telangana. Kumar wondered why the government wasn’t charging the ‘idiot’ with a case under 153 A. The section deals with promoting enmity between different groups on the grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc., and doing acts prejudicial to the maintenance of harmony.

Despite Dalit activist Karthik Navayan’s online complaint at Hyderabad cyber crime police, the latter maintained that they are yet to receive one against Hamara Prasad, TNM learnt.

In the Riddles in Hinduism book, Ambedkar writes in its introduction: “This book is an exposition of the beliefs propounded by what might be called Brahmanic theology. It is intended for the common mass of Hindus who need to be awakened to know in what quagmire the Brahmins have placed them and to lead them on to the road of rational thinking. The Brahmins have propagated the view that the Hindu civilisation is Sanatan, that is, unchanging.”

“This view has been reinforced by many European Scholars who have said that the Hindu civilisation is static. In this book, I have attempted to show that this view is not in accord with facts and that Hindu Society has changed from time to time and that oftentimes the change is of the most radical kind. In this connection, compare the Riddles from Himsa to Ahimsa and from Ahimsa back to Himsa. I want to make the mass of people realise that Hindu religion is not Sanatan,” TNM quotes the book.
