Congress will allow people to eat beef if voted to power: Adityanath

Lucknow: In yet another controversial and problematic discourse by a BJP leader amid Lok Sabha elections, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath claimed on Friday that Congress would give people the “right to eat beef”.

It is when Prime Minister Narendra Modi makes stinking remarks amid the polls, and the Election Commission seeks an explanation from the PM that Adityanath shows the audacity to carry out such hate statements.

The UP CM said at a campaign rally on Friday, “These shameless people [Congress] will provide the right to eat cow meat while our scriptures refer to cows as a mother. They want to give cows into the hands of butchers. Will India ever accept this?”

News portal The News Minute points out that in the Congress party’s Lok Sabha election manifesto, at no point is there any mention of cow slaughter or beef. Also, most states across India, including UP, have separate laws on cow slaughter, beef consumption and export.

He continued, “They are trying to resurrect the Maoist insurgency and are attempting to demean women by reintroducing practices like triple talaq through personal laws. Hence, in the present scenario, the BJP is opposing these issues,” claiming that Congress is endorsing Talibanism.

“The public’s attention is being drawn to what is the mentality of Congress and INDIA bloc. To prevent the Congress’ intentions from materialising, it is imperative for the public to act decisively and thwart them through every vote they cast,” Adityanath advised.
