800 Sikh people joined BJP in Delhi on Saturday

New Delhi: In the nation's capital city, 800 people from the Sikh community joined the BJP on Tuesday in the presence of the party’s national general secretary. The event was also attended by the Delhi BJP president, Virendra Sachdeva, Asian News International reported.

Sachdeva said that the saffron party wanted to secure all the seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi in the polls and make Prime Minister Narendra Modi PM for the third term. He welcomed the new members to the party.

He then praised the Sikjh community, saying that wherever in history there is bravery, courage, compassion, kindness, etc., there will be the presence of a Sikh. He highlighted the historical role of the late Guru Gobind Singh. He said that Guru Gobiund Singh created and nurtured the Sikh, and he had a mission to fight oppression and tyranny. He said that the entire Sikh community is united under the leadership of PM Modi to make India a developed nation.

Further, the party president in Delhi lauded the Sikh community for their unwavering support in times of national crisis, saying that the community always stepped forward to protect and save the entire society.

BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa, who was present in the event, claimed that Sikhs suffered horrible 55 years during which they were labelled as terrorists. But when Modi came to power, those massacred Sikhs were put in jail. Modi loved Sikhs, and he embraced them, Sirsa claimed.

In Delhi, voting for seven Lok Sabha seats will be conducted on May 25. The counting for all the seven phases of voting will be done on June 4.
