Tamil actor Dhanush won the best actor award for his stunning performance in the film Asuran directed by Vetrimaran at Brics Film Festival. The sixth edition of BRICS was organized along with the 52nd edition of the International Film Festival of India ( IFFI ) at Goa.

This gives a clear picture of caste oppression in the villages. The language of the movie and the way the filmmaker depicted it made the story more engaging. Asura earned a critical review from the audience for its anti-caste politics.
