‘I and Sunny too dislike it’ Dharmendra on Pak TV host’s concerns over anti-Pak dialogues

Mumbai: Pakistani TV personality Nadia Khan recently shared a surprising revelation from her interview with Bollywood legend Dharmendra on a popular podcast. Recounting the conversation, Khan disclosed that during their dialogue, she candidly expressed her reservations about the anti-Pakistan sentiments portrayed in the films of Dharmendra's son, Sunny Deol.

Although Khan did not specify the exact movie, it is apparent that she referred to Sunny Deol's notable films like "Border," and "Gadar," which often centre around the intricate India-Pakistan relationship. Khan's insights into her interactions with Bollywood luminaries were unveiled on Nadir Ali's podcast earlier this year.

Khan was initially taken aback when Dharmendra contacted her, even requiring a personalized video from the sets of "Apne" to confirm his identity.

The conversation eventually led to a discussion about Sunny Deol's roles featuring anti-Pakistan dialogues. Surprisingly, Dharmendra concurred with Khan's sentiments and acknowledged that even Sunny himself isn't particularly fond of delivering such lines, given the extensive fan base the Deol family has across the border.

Nadir Ali, the podcast host, extended his support to Sunny Deol, emphasizing that the actor is merely portraying characters on screen and is known for his amiable nature in real life. Khan fondly described Dharmendra's stance and mentioned the veteran actor's invitation for her to visit his farmhouse whenever she travels to India.

As "Gadar 2" continues its triumphant run at the box office, amassing over Rs 260 crore within its debut week, a significant segment of the film's plot is set in Pakistan. The narrative follows Tara Singh's quest to rescue his son, contributing to the film's immense popularity.
