Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar’s outreach programme in Sirsa landed in controversy after he reportedly ordered his security personnel to ‘ thrash and throw out’ an AAP worker who asked uncomfortable questions to him.

The BJP leader lost cool again when an elderly woman reportedly questioned the chief minister about the state’s drug menace to which she lost her son, according to The Indian Express.

His 'Jan Samvads' are designed to sound out people to share their grievances with the chief minister which he will direct to officials to resolve on the spot.

Khattar told a Jan Samvad that his government would open drug de-addiction centres, run by saints and eminent personalities, in all district to fight the drug menace, guiding the youth onto the right path.

After Khattar invited suggestions from the gathering, one man attempted to say something when Khattar said ‘ don’t let this man do politics. He has come here to politicise the event. He is an AAP worker’ and added that ‘thrash him and throw out’, showed a footage on social media.

The state AAP leader Anurag Dhanda quickly reacted that he AAP workers will ask the chief minister questions at every one of his Jan Samvad programmes.

Anurag Dhanda asked the chief minister to discontinue the outreach programme if he cannot answer AAP workers’ questions.

Dhanda on Saturday said that AAP workers will not allow the BJP to continue its propaganda of Jan Samvad, saying that ‘Our party workers will attend the meetings and question the CM on issues of public concern.’

The AAP leader questioned Khattar’s response to an elderly woman after she started saying something at the outreach programme.

Khattar reportedly asked the woman to shut up and sit down, adding that ‘You have been tortured by someone’ according to The Indian Express.

Dhanda tweeted on Sunday that when an elderly woman pleased with the chief minister to stop drug menace, the chief minister said that someone had tortured her into saying so.
