New Delhi: While the new world order shapes itself in the backdrop of the Covid-19 pandemic, India needs quicker development to find its role in the post-covid world, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday. He added that the whole world is looking at India, Asian News International reported.

Modi was addressing a valedictory function of the 96th Common Foundation Course at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie, through a video conference.

He bid farewell to the batch of civil servants that will play a major role in India's development through the next 25 years. They are starting to work on the year of India's 75th year of Independence, and thus they are special, Modi said.

He urged the new civil servants to hold the goals towards an Aatmanirbhar Bharat and should lay the foundation for the 'New Modern India'.

Modi further said that the batch was enlightened with the vision of Sardar Vallabhai Patel during their training. The importance of service and sense of duty has been an integral part of the training, he said.

Based on the Mission Karmayogi, with new pedagogy and design, the 96th Foundation Course at LBSNAA has 488 Officer-trainees, 16 services and three Royal Bhutan Services. 'Mission Karmayogi' was designed to harness the adventurous and innovative spirit of the youthful batch, the Prime Minister's Office said in its statement.

On the occasion, the PM inaugurated the new sports complex in the academy and dedicated the renovated 'Happy Valley Complex' to the nation. He said that both would give a fresh direction to the academy.
