Manmohan Vaidya, joint general secretary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), announced on Friday that the organization has decided to revise the content and nomenclature of its annual training programs, with the changes set to be implemented from this year onwards.

Speaking at a press conference during the Sangh’s annual ‘Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha’ conclave in Nagpur, Vaidya outlined the adjustments made to various training programs, including the 7-day ‘Prathamik Shiksha Varg’, 20-day ‘Sangh Shiksha Varg-Pratham Varsh’, 20-day ‘Sangh Shiksha Varg-Dvitya Varsh’, and 25-day ‘Sangh Shiksha Varg-Tritiya Varsh’.

According to Vaidya, a new 3-day ‘Prarambhik Varg’ program will be introduced for novice Sangh workers. Following this, recruits will participate in the ‘Prathamik Shiksha Varg’ and then proceed to a 15-day ‘Sangh Shiksha Varg’, previously known as ‘Sangh Shiksha Varg-Pratham Varsh’, which had a duration of 20 days.

Highlighting the significant turnout of youth in the training programs, Vaidya mentioned that each year, around 15,000 to 17,000 individuals attend the ‘Pratham Shiksha Varg’ and approximately 1 lakh participate in the ‘Prathamik Shiksha Varg’.

Moving forward, the ‘Sangh Shiksha Varg’ (Pratham Varsh) will be shortened to 15 days, as confirmed by Vaidya. Additionally, the former classes of ‘Dvitya Varsha’ and ‘Tritya Varsh’ will now be referred to as ‘Karyakarta Vikas Varg-1’ and ‘Karyakarta Vikas Varg-2’, respectively.

Vaidya noted that the content of the ‘Tritya Varsh’ class has been adjusted to include behavioral training, with trainees spending 5 days in the field as part of the curriculum.

“These changes in syllabus and nomenclature will be effective from this year,” Vaidya added.

Responding to queries about discussions on the upcoming Lok Sabha elections during the RSS conclave, Vaidya emphasized the Sangh's advocacy for maximum voting. He added that RSS workers play a role in raising awareness among citizens about exercising their voting rights.
